Laurent Although hailing from the desert village of Deione, Laurent's fair complexion makes it fairly obvious that at least one of her parents was from the city's upper class. She is, like many of the other street "orphans" of Deione, most likely the result of an unwanted pregnancy, abandoned to the city and left to fend for herself. An accomplished thief and acrobat, Laurent has managed to survive on the streets of Deione successfully without mixing into the child-gangs that rule the slums. |

Ralt Though his appearance is quite youthful, Ralt is actually an experienced swordsman. He has been wandering the countryside ever since his home was razed to the ground six years ago. Though not much is known about his past, he does have a strong sense of justice and a compassionate nature. His unusual red eyes and association with the dragonslayers of Levka cause him to receive frosty receptions in most civilized towns and villages. |

Vasilli As dragons go, Vasilli is relatively young. He is unusual in many ways, however, from his strange black hide to the lifeless soul crystal on his forehead. Like all dragons, Vasilli knows he is old, but cannot remember many of the details over the span of his long life. He is renowned among both dragons and humans for having begun the great draconic war almost a thousand years ago. |

Chiro Laurent's best friend and "little brother" of sorts, he was rescued and raised by her when he was nine years old. He is also an accomplished thief and acrobat, though not quite as confident or boastful of his abilities as Laurent. He is, unlike her, also very superstitious. |

Deione Deione is one of the youngest of the dragons and also mildly insane. Apart from his sanity, he also lost most of his ability to summon water and transform into his draconic body when his soul crystal was cracked almost a century ago. |
